Bishop Allan Kiuna

Man, this is tough news to hear. Bishop Allan Kiuna, the guy who started Jubilee Christian Church (JCC), has passed away after fighting cancer. The church dropped the news late Tuesday, and you can tell they’re hurting. They’re asking everyone to give the family some space to grieve, which is totally understandable.

JCC’s statement was really touching. They called Kiuna an “extraordinary man” who made a big impact, not just in Kenya but around the world. Sounds like he was the real deal – a spiritual leader, family man, and friend to many.

Here’s the thing – Kiuna had been battling cancer since 2018. He’d been getting treatment both here and in the States. It’s wild, but just last December, during a thanksgiving ceremony, he actually declared himself cancer-free after a year of treatment in the US. He even shared how his treatment cost a whopping $3 million, but he didn’t have to pay a dime out of pocket. Talk about faith, right?

The big names are already paying their respects. President Ruto called him a dedicated Christian leader who inspired tons of people. And Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the Deputy President’s wife, described Kiuna as a “gallant soldier” who fought bravely. It’s clear he made a big impact.

Kiuna leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Rev Kathy, and their three kids. It’s always tough to lose someone, especially someone who touched so many lives. Thoughts are definitely with the family and the whole JCC community right now. Rest in peace, Bishop Kiuna.
