THE SELF-PROCLAIMED MARY MOTHER OF JESUS, CLAIMS SHE WAS NAMED BY GOD

A woman from busia county is causing a stir after declaring herself as Mary mother of Jesus. Judith Nafula, who comes from Nangoma village in Matayos, says the holy spirit gave her that name and instructed her to heal the sick. Her story has attracted people from kenya and even neighboring countries, with many calling her a prophet while others are questioning her claims

In the quiet village of nangoma, matayos, busia county, a spiritual movement is unfolding. Judith nafula, formerly a devoted member of lwanya catholic parish, now calls herself Mary, mother of Jesus. Family and community members say Judith was expelled from the church for prophesying and praying for healing, which unsettled church leaders. She says her life changed after a two-month fast, during which the Holy Spirit gave her the name maria and instructed her to perform miracles. Her story is drawing attention across the region.

“A light came down from heaven, and in the middle of it was Jesus. He spoke to me, asking me where Mother Mary was and that he had been sent by his father, God,” Nafula stated.

“I responded to him, saying I did not know who Mother Mary was. He revealed that it was me and that it was high time people found out my true identity,” she added.

As crowds continue to flock to their home john wekulo, judith’s husband, revealed that his own name was spiritually changed, marking his transformation from skeptic to devoted supporter. He now plays a crucial role coordinating the growing number of visitors and maintaining order at their home. His behind-the-scenes involvement has become indispensable as the movement continues to attract attention from across east Africa.

“God works in mysterious ways. I don’t know how people found out that prayers happen in our home, people just come to be prayed for,” he said.

In addition, Everline Ouma, Judith’s sister, stressed that her sister’s ministry is not about collecting tithes or seeking financial gain. She affirmed that judith is committed solely to healing and delivering spiritual messages

“They can now see she has the ability to perform miracles. Those who were barren now have babies because of her,” said Everline.

Judith Nafula remains devoted to her spiritual mission, gaining followers across east africa. Supported by her family, her ministry inspires hope while sparking both faith and skepticism in the community.
