GEN-Z-WARNING

KENYA CAN’T AFFORD ANOTHER VIOLENT POLITICAL UPRISING

WOMEN’S EVENT TURNS INTO A NATIONAL UNITY PLATFORM

Amid rising anxiety in the country over the anticipated June 25th Gen Z demonstrations, top political leaders are urging restraint. Led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, the leaders are cautioning the youth against allowing themselves to be used in politically motivated violence as tools of political disruption.

“Don’t be drawn into political issues that are not yours,” said Speaker Wetang’ula. “Focus on your own country and your own challenges.Don’t hate people you don’t even know, They may have done you no wrong, and yet you carry burdens that are not yours. We must rise above borrowed hatred and remain focused on building our lives.”

In Kijauri, Nyamira County, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula stood before hundreds during a women empowerment event and declared peace non-negotiable. Joined by more than ten MPs, he carried rising incitement and urged young people to avoid becoming pawns in political games. Their message was clear Kenya cannot afford another descent into violence.

“His maneno tunaskia ya Wednesday, ya kusema kwamba kuna watt wanatanga mikutano ya kukuwa na vita, sisi kama jamii ya omogusii, tunapenda kuchapa kazi, vijana wenzangu nawaomba mskubali kutumika vibaya.” Emphasized nominated MP Irene Mayaka.

They recalled the painful events of 2007, warning against political recklessness that could spark national unrest.

“There is one thing we must never forget the events of 2007, when politics was turned into a dangerous game, even here in Borabu, there was unrest.People fought, lives were lost, and we were forced to sit down at Serena Hotel to negotiate a way forward. We agreed then to bring balance, cohesion, and healing to our nation.” Said WEtang’ula.

Leaders also defended the police, cautioning against painting the entire police service as rogue based on a few incidents. However, they emphasized the need for balanced justice across all regions. From condemning tribalism to calling for national cohesion, the event became more than just a women’s gathering, but rather, it was a national call for unity, peace and purpose.

“Selective justice and community profiling is wrong, police have only concentrated in Nairobi, yet police have killed people in Angata and no arrests have been made,” He said.

Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro stated That even the youths are tired of being used.

Kwendeni huko, you must respect the Kenyan Constitution and the Ke Ian people, hamtaki vita? Ice kitu wamepanga next week hook Nairobi, hatutaki vita. Tumechoka kabisa, hata vijana wamesema wamechoka kutumika,” Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro stated.

As the clock ticks towards Wednesday, the nation watches closely. Will Gen Zs heed the call for peace? Or will history risk repeating itself?
