Uncategorized The opposition will collapse, Mp Nyamita predicts by Havana Media September 30, 2025 written by Havana Media 0 comment Share 0FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail 2 Uriri MP Mark Nyamita has scoffed at the United Opposition as a fragile, short-lived alliance driven more by mutual resentment towards President William Ruto than any shared political ideology. His remarks come even as the honchos from the critical front exude confidence of forging a formidable team to unseat Ruto and broad-based brigadiers in 2027. In an interview on a local TV station on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Nyamita questioned the very existence of a cohesive opposition front, suggesting that the movement lacks substance and long-term viability. “I do not know if there’s anything that exists called the United Opposition or not. What we see as a group of people talking about United Opposition is a group of political leaders united by hate against one particular enemy, the president.” “I can predict by June next year, it will collapse.” The lawmakers’ sentiments come amid growing tensions over the future of the United Opposition, especially after clear cracks seem to have appeared among the brigades. Nyamita pointed out that the lack of ideology and internal cohesion is already unraveling the movement. “That cannot hold for a very long time. No wonder cracks have begun to emerge. They are still learning from each other because what brought them together was not ideology,” he quipped. Taking swipes at individual opposition parties, Nyamita singled out Jubilee and Wiper Patriotic Front, questioning their relevance and reach. “Jubilee had about 140 MPs in 2013, and the same in 2017. In 2022, they had 32. At their National Delegates Conference, they had just four MPs in attendance. What is left of Jubilee to protect?” he posed. Additionally, the MP, while acknowledging Wiper’s relative stability under its chief, Kalonzo Musyoka, however, he said the faction has no national political influence. Wiper still remains what I would call a village party. It draws its membership from one particular region. It has limited national appeal despite having a semblance of structure,” he stated. Nyamita asserted that only UDA and ODM have truly national structures and influence. “ODM is celebrating 20 years, has structures, has representation across the nation despite not having won the presidency,” the legislator asserted.
